Fixing stabilises the yarn: it is therefore a key stage for the look, smoothness, shape, elasticity and shape-recovery (deformation resistance) properties of the tights.

This is the stage where additives and special processes required for some types of tights are added.

The product, still wet, is sent to the Fixing stage which basically consists in a hot treatment with steam applied to the tights laid on leg-shaped metal frames.

This way the tights are stretched and the yarn is stabilised.

The fabric weft is therefore spread out more evenly and it becomes softer and more compact.

This processing is performed before packaging.

Fixed tights feature a smooth-looking weft and an overall good appearance when not worn.

The fixing frames may be either lance- or foot-shaped.
